Preschool Program

As of July 2016, Dragonfly Childcare & Preschool, llc has been approved by O.D.E. (Oregon Department of Education) as a licensed private preschool!

Creative Curriculum is being utilized for preschool. This curriculum has been QRIS approved and is also used by Headstart.

Our preschool has a teacher to child ratio of 1:10, spaces are limited and filled on a first come, first served basis.

All 2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds are eligible for our preschool program for the 2018-19  school year. We are currently have 2 full time spaces available for the 2018-19 school year as of June 1, 2018.

Beginning September 2019, we will be transitioning to a cohort type preschool and childcare program where the children will be enrolled  at age 2 and will continue until they are 5/ ready to begin kindergarten. This way everyone grows together and it makes our preschool and childcare run much smoother. We will have more time to expand our curriculum to meet the children’s educational needs by transitioning to this type of program.

I provide a FREE* structured preschool program to all children age 2-5 years old who are potty trained Monday through Friday from September  to May who are also in attendance for childcare during the preschool time. STRUCTURED teacher-led preschool begins promptly at 9am and ends at 4pm each day, however, throughout the day we do have less structured more child-led preschool lessons that all the children benefit and learn  from as well.  I use the Creative Curriculum which is the SAME PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM as Headstart. As a star rated facility with Oregon’s QRIS/SPARKS program, we exceed the requirements set forth for licensed childcare and preschool. Children attending an outside preschool program such as Headstart are NOT eligible to attend our preschool program. Transportation is not provided to other programs and there are restrictions for other programs picking up and dropping off children to/from our program during specific times of the day to avoid interruptions.

*Our FREE preschool program is for children currently attending full time childcare. At this time we do not accept applications only for preschool or part time care.

Preschool is CLOSED on all holidays and 4J/Springfield school district seasonal break times. Our program does follow the 4J and Springfield school district calendars for closures.  This will include snow days for everyone’s safety!

Our Preschool Year will begin on the 1st day of scheduled school for the 4J and Springfield school districts and end the last FRIDAY in May.

Preschool Supply Fee:
All families with children attending our preschool program will pay a yearly fee of $25 PER CHILD that will solely go towards school supplies. The school supply fee is non-refundable.
The fee needs to be paid by September 1st to ensure that supplies can be purchased before school begins.
